Access Statement for The Seacroft


Introduction

Our guest house has 7 guest rooms all of which are en-suite and we have both smoking and non smoking rooms.
It is a terraced building over 100 years old, therefore, stairs to each level as well as stairs to the main front door.
We do not have any ground floor rooms which makes us unsuitable for wheelchair users.

 
Pre-Arrival

• We are located on Lord Street which is a one way street.
• The town centre is within a 5 minute walk.
• The nearest railway station is Blackpool North which is a 2 minute walk.
• Buses & tram timetables are available at reception.
• There are several local taxi companies; we can make bookings in advance for you.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
• Please advise us of your anticipated arrival time so that we can be sure we are here to welcome you.
• To ensure your accommodation is ready we ask that guests do not normally arrive before 2pm, earlier arrival may, however, be possible by arrangement.
• On street parking is limited from Easter until the beginning of November after then you can park on single yellow lines outside the hotel.
• Guests can park outside while luggage is unloaded and we can point guests to best car parking.
• We offer assistance with luggage.

 Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area
• There are 4 steps up to the front door.
• The front door is normally open but you will need to ring the door bell as the inner door is kept locked.
• On the ground floor is the Dining room, Reception and Bar area.
 

Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc
• The front entrance hall leads to the bar/reception. There is an emergency bell by our private door should guests need us after hours.  
• The hotel has a parquet floor on the ground floor but is carpeted throughout the first, second and third floor.
• There are 11 stairs to the first floor, straight on up 4 more steps is 103. There is a small landing with 6 further steps that leads to rooms 101 & 102.

• Another set of 8 stairs leads up to a landing, up 3 stairs to 203 Turning right up a further 6 steps are rooms 201 & 202.

• Another set of 5 stairs leads up to a landing, up a further 8 stairs to 301.

• The hotel is centrally heated throughout but temperatures can be adjusted in each room to suit individual requirements.
• All rooms have, in addition to the central heating, an oil filled radiator which is thermostatically controlled for extra heat.

• A leaflet rack with local events/attractions can be found be the door to the Dining room and a file with local restaurants and takeaway menus.


Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc

• We are licensed for the sale of alcohol.
• The bar is situated at the front of the building on the ground floor.
• There is a television with freeview box and surround sound system.

• 10 leather chairs & 2 stools. There are some magazines available along with some board games for guests use.
• Free Wi-Fi is available please ask at reception for code.

 

Dining Room
 

• We do not serve a full English breakfast but we do serve a limited continental breakfast if required.

• There are 4 breakfast tables. We can seat 14 people for breakfast.
• Breakfast is served between 9.30am-10.00am Monday - Friday and 10.00am-10.30am Saturday and Sunday.
 

Bedrooms & Sleeping Areas

• All rooms are en-suite consisting of a shower, WC, basin with shaving point mirror & light.

• All rooms have a fridge.

• Tea/Coffee facilities are provided in each room.
• We also provide a hair dryer, iron & ironing board.

• All duvets and pillows are synthetic you will find spare pillows in the wardrobe.
• All rooms have wardrobes and drawers.
• Each bed has a bedside lamp.
• All rooms have televisions with freeview and work with a remote.

• All rooms have a DVD player.
• Room 101 has a double and a single bed with access both sides.
• Room 102 has a double bed with access to both sides.

• Room 103 has a single bed and a double bed with access from both sides.
• Room 201 has a king sized bed with access both sides.

• Room 202 has a double bed with access both sides.
• Room 203 has a single bed and a double bed with access both sides.
• Room 301 has a single bed and a king sized bed with access both sides.

 

Additional Information

• There is a fire extinguisher in the entrance hall by the bar door the next extinguisher is at the top of the 1st set of stairs then you will find another at the top of the 2nd flight of stairs.
• In the event of a fire the fire alarms will sound please see back of bedroom doors or reception for evacuation procedure.
• The building can be evacuated via the front door. In an emergency there is also an exit via our private accommodation.
• We do not permit smoking in any  of the bedrooms.
• We are happy to refrigerate any medication.
• Checkout is 11am but we do offer a late checkout subject to availability at a cost of £10 per room.
• Luggage can be left on day of departure at owner’s risk.
